La Castellana

Our 1st hotel in Lima was pretty spiffy!

I'm sure tha in the grand scheme of things, this is a minor kink, but at the moment it is very frustrating. We were unable to get flights to Cusco until the 31st and had to pay full price again. So, 7 of us will be staying in Lima and making the best of a frustrting situation. The good news is, we are all safe and at least happy to be in Peru.

We're Have Arrived!

We have arrived!

Our last pictures before leaving Houston.

We are officially temporary Peruvians. Our flight went well and we are nestled in a quaint hotel in Mirafores, Lima, Peru. My plan is to head to the airport at 3:30am to try to reserve new flights for us to Cusco. I hope that we can get flights for tomorrow. I can't wait to get to the magincal capital city of the Inca. We are all very happy to be here!

All in a Day's Adventure

In travel as in life, there are many unexpected rifts no matter how well we plan ahead. Today was a study in patience. Our flight was supposed to leave Houston at 3:55pm and arrive in Lima at 11:30pm. Unfortunatley we arrived in Houston hours after the flight was supposed to depart. The upside is that we got a little cardio running through the airport. At the moment, we are grounded in Houston and scheduled to depart tomorrow at 3:55pm for a repeat flight. Keep your fingers crossed that all goes smoothly. We still have our smiles on and are looking forward to tomorrow's trek. By-the-way Debra and Heather were on an earlier flight and will be arriving in Lima soon. Lucky dogs!

We had a slow day in photoville...me kissing a skeleton and Wes sleeping. I promise they will get better.

New Traveler

Okay so I suppose I would be the baby of the group. Today was in fact my first flight, um, ever. Some flight delays made some complications which I'm sure will be elaborated in another post at some point. But right now we're (except Heather & Debra) stuck in Houston because weather delays made us miss our flight to Lima.

So yeah, right now I'm just sitting in a hotel room while Cornforth figures out our Peruvian flights. Wish us luck!
